I had to search a bit to find an example.here you go. I've seen dynos of turbo'd hondas that were making 400whp, but most of that power came on around 6000 rpm.

For example, if my HP goes down by 2 and I gained 10tq and raised HP by 10 down at 4000 rpm, I have created a decent range in which I can shift at redline and have more power after my shift and accelerate faster even though I lost the 2hp at the top end.

I can respect how you wish to go about measuring the gains. They were turbo engines, so maybe its different for a NA engine. I have read this happen with others as well. They put the back the previous tgune and went faster. Both went slower at the track despite the bigger dyno number. Two of my friends have dialed their car at the track and then went to a dyno to dial the last few hp in. I am a believer of measuring gains at the drag strip. If I happen to be a place where they were doing dyno pulls, I might do it for shits and giggles, other than that I am not going out of my way to go to a dyno. I have no interest in putting my go fast vehicle on a dyno either. In general, I am not a big fan of dyno’s. I have another vehicle that I would much rather drive at the drag strip.

Someday I will bring it back to the 1/4 mile track to see if my timeslip improves, but getting my 2.5i Legacy daily driver to the track is not a big priority in my life. You may get 5% to 10% more power with intake and exhaust. Who did your tune? Why didn't you dyno it?

I have my doubts that any measurable hp will gained with an exhaust. Most catback exhausts manufacturers are making are pretty efficient these days.
